Sealion 7 vs BMW iX1

A BMW i-X-1 is obviously superior, to the poor people's BYD, in five key aspects. First is the price. The entry level i-X-1, is fifteen thousand Aussie dollars more expensive than the top-end Sea-lion 7, thanks to the Luxury Car tax of course. In the UK it's a totally different scenario.

The Beemer, is actually four thousand quid cheaper, than the base variant, of the Sealion 7. Nevertheless, you get a slower car, if you buy the Beemer. So always remember to argue that you deliberately bought the slow car, so that you have to drive at snails pace, for your own safety.

Show them how dangerous the base sea-lion is, with over three hundred horsepower. And god forbid, those fools, who got themselves a range-topping, five hundred horsepower, Sea-lion 7.

After that, start extolling the virtues of front-wheel drive, claiming that it makes the packaging of a vehicle more efficient. After all, interior space is more important, than the grip, that a rear-wheel-drive Sea-lion offers on snow and ice.

If someone points out, that an all-wheel drive Sea-lion seven, has 30 liters more boot-space than your i-X-1. You should be ready with your comeback. Show them how long the Sea-lion is, compared to your Beemer. If your Beemer was a foot longer, it would have definitely had a bigger boot.

But you consciously chose a shorter vehicle, because it is more maneuverable in city traffic, remember? Also point out, that your i-X-1 is over three hundred kilos lighter than the Sea-lion. Lighter weight gives better handling, said Mr. Colin Chapman, the messiah of driving dynamics.

Don't forget, that the lighter weight of the i-X-1 is also a good excuse for it's smaller battery. You can always take the moral high ground, claiming that smaller the battery, lesser the cobalt being mined in the D-R Congo, by child labor.

While on the subject of battery, you can take one more shot at the BYD. Claim that you chose the slower charging battery, because slower the charging, longer the battery life.

On top of that, when you stop at a charging station, you get more time to relax, have a coffee, a small nap and long dump as well. Last but not the least, you must point out the small 10-inch touchscreen of your Beemer, which is far less distracting than the massive, 15.6 inch unit of the Sea-lion.

When it comes to features, there's no point arguing against a BYD. So just change the subject saying that you don't care at all about electronic gimmicks.

We have also posted the detailed feature comparison in the pinned comment for those who want that info, instead of talking about it in the video, to help your cause.
