Mitsubishi Pajero Sport vs Denza B5
Beware! If you buy the Pajero Sport, you are going to suffer through these five pain-points, for the next few years. First, is the fo mo, the fear of missing out of course. Missing out on what you ask? Well, within the next six months, BYD is going to launch the Denza B5, in global markets, starting with Australia. If you buy a Pajero right now, you will suffer through the pain of glacial acceleration, during each and every overtake, that you may, or mostly may not, be able to pull off. But in the Denza, you'll simply breeze through every overtaking opportunity. After all, it is four times as powerful as the Pajero. Now, that must be taking a toll on fuel efficiency, right? Wrong. This is where the magic of electric motors comes in. The old fossil-fuel thumb-rules of, twice the power, half the economy, do not apply to electric powertrains. But before we even talk about kilometers per liter numbers, the Denza, might not even need, to visit a fuel station, for months at a time! It's massive, 32 kilowatt hour battery, has a pure EV range of 120 kilometers, which will mostly be charged at home. Most plug-in hybrid owners, already report less than five visits to a petrol pump, in an entire year! But even when you do head out, on longer trips, the Denza will still gulp less than eight liters, per hundred kilometers. All things said and done, Pajeros are known to burn through, about two thousand dollars of diesel, every year. The Denza, will cut that down to 500 bucks, or less. It is also, a bit bigger in size, than the already humungous Pajero! The comes the fo mo on features. Starting with the shlong of modern car features, the touch screen, which is four times bigger in the Denza, compared to the Pajero. The instrument cluster, is twice as big as the Pajero's. Then there's the Denza's, hi def heads up display, and an additional third touchscreen for the co-driver, both of which are absent on the Pajero. And, before you think, that Denza's advantage is only about electronic toys, take a look, at its fully adjustable suspension. It can raise the ground clearance, to 310 mm, which is 92 mm more than the Pajero. But the biggest miss, that Mitsubishi shouldn't have forgotten, when they face lifted the Pajero, is ventilated seats. Its a plug and play part available with any automotive seat supplier. They can, and should offer it immediately. At the other end of the spectrum, there's Denza's sunroof, which is more of a bane, than a boon, in today's automobiles.
